Potential investment opportunities in KP tourism.

Islamabad : More then 200 investors belonging to various sectors attended the event. Investment Conference on ‘Integrated Tourism Zones in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’ (ITZ) was organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture & Tourism Authority & KITE.
To mobilize private sector investments and to promote responsible tourism. This is for the ITZs in Mankyal, Swat and Ganool, Manshera. Event was attended by a huge number of national level investors. Presidents of ICCI, RCCI, MD PTDC, KP-BOIT and other trade associations.
An exclusive discussion on the title ‘Real-estate and Tourism, A Public Private Partnership approach’ was part of the conference. The panel shed light on various aspects of sustainable tourism and opportunities for the local economy.
President RCCI Saqib rafiq, MD PTDC Aftab Rana, VC Board of investment Engr Said Mehmood, SVP ICCI Mr fahd, Chief Economist Go-KP Mr asghar khan highlighted the efforts of KP Government on the occasion.
Key note address was given by Sardar Yasir Ilyas Ex President RCCI and CEO Centauras appreciated the efforts of KP CTA and extended full support in making these zones the next big investment opportunity on the province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is well positioned as a preferred tourism destination in Pakistan – it has a considerable competitive advantage due to the natural endowments and a culture of hospitality says DG Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan.
The investors took keen interest in project scope and pledged to invest in tourism sector of the KP.
Director General CTA while addressing the occasion elaborated the concept of integrated tourism zones and offered these zones for private secror investment. GM investments CTA Omair Khattak gave detailed presentation of integrated zones.

KITE Project has achieved its 2 years objectives and is taking tangible measures for facilitating tourists by improving accessibility through roads, tourist facilities, rescue services and planning of tourism zones. Construction of roads that are directly benefitting tourists and visitors :: Reconstruction of ‘Mankyal to Bada Serai Road’ and ‘Expanison of Abbottabad to Thandiani Road’ is supported through Integrated Tourism Zones: Feasibility Study and Master Planning of 4 ITZs (Ghanool, Thandiani, Madaklasht, Mankyal). These sites are being given status of ITZs, approved by KP Cabinet.
