Govt donor agencies are planning to spend funds in the field of Computer Science, IT and Artificial Intelligence
Karachi (VOM) : Executive Director, SOPREST visited GIK Institute last day to review the preparations for Convocation 2022, and Admission process 2022. It is pertinent to mention here that the last date for the submission of applications has been extended to July 8, 2022. The Executive Director also had an interactive session with Deans and Directors. Executive Director informed the faculty members that government donor agencies are planning to spend funds in the field of Computer Science, IT and Artificial Intelligence. The Institute should submit a project document superior to other Universities, so that the Institute could get funds from the government as well. Meanwhile, he assured that Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SOPREST) will always ensure full support in terms of provision of financial resources for uplifting research activities in the Institute. The Rector, GIK Institute, Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid stated that resources would be required for establishing Robotics labs, smart classrooms, smart learning management system and digital transformation. Executive Director while addressing the Deans and Director said that everyone should put extra efforts and take more initiatives under the leadership of the Rector to compete with other leading universities and improve the ranking of the Institute.
He further appreciated the extra ordinary efforts/hard work put in by everyone for conducting online admission test 2022 for the first time, ever done by any of the Universities in Pakistan.
The Executive Director also expressed his satisfaction upon the preparations being made for Convocation 2022 and anticipated that the event will be a huge success.
All Deans and Directors thanked Executive Director for his visit to the Institute and his valuable guidance and support given by the SOPREST time to time.
The Executive Director also inspected the under-construction Girls Hostel project when he was briefed by Director Projects, Col (Rtd) Hasan Haqqani. He expressed satisfaction on the quality and pace of works and desired that a portion of the building e made ready to accommodate students of the new intake.
