*Govt Punjab decides to set up Cultural Tea Houses across the province*

RAWALPINDI: In the light of the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar, it has been decided to set up Cultural Tea Houses across the province on the pattern of Pak Tea House. In this regard, a meeting was held at Civil Secretariat Lahore under the chairmanship of Secretary Information and Culture Raja Jahangir Anwar. In the meeting, Director General Punjab Arts Council Abrar Alam gave a detail briefing on the establishment of cultural tea houses in the premises of Divisional Arts Councils. The meeting was also attended by the Divisional Directors of Punjab Arts Council including Waqar Ahmed, Riaz Hussain Hamdani, Muhammad Haleem, Saleem Qaiser, Zahid Iqbal, Zubair Rabbani and other Divisional Directors. Raja Jahangir Anwar said on the occasion that the Cultural Tea House would be a platform for poets, writers, authors and artists to share their thoughts, feelings and thoughts with the world. He said ‘’The Chief Minister Punjab is striving for further development of literature and culture in the province’’. The establishment of Cultural Tea Houses across the province is a link in this chain, he added. Director Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi Waqara Ahmad informed the participants of the meeting that An Adabi Baithak for literary circles was set up in Punjab Arts Council Rawalpindi in 2017 where new books to be launched, poetry recitals and evenings with poets and other literary programs are held regularly. At the end of the meeting, Secretary Information and Culture Raja Jahangir Anwar called for presenting the expected features of the Cultural Tea Houses as soon as possible.
