*PAECO, A UNIQUE MODEL OF REGIONAL COOPERATION, ASAD QAISER*
Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser expressed his gratitude to participants Speakers and Delegations who presence at the 2nd General Conference of Parliamentary Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization a model of success. He expressed his hope that ECO members would continue to cooperate and translate this into an agenda of regional peace and development and translate their passion of cooperation into regional cooperation and development.
The Speaker expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Imran Khan Prime Minister of Pakistan whose vision of regional cooperation enabled Parliament of Pakistan to host 2nd PAECO successfully. He expressed these views during his speech in the closing ceremony of 2nd General Conference of PAECO today in Islamabad.
Speaker Asad Qaiser expressed his gratitude to Speakers of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan who participated in the conference along with their Parliamentary delegations. He said that PAECO emerged as successful multilateral forum owing to practical suggestion agreed upon during conference.
While mentioning the important milestones achieved in the conference, he said that 3rd PAECO would be held in Afghanistan. He said that the PAECO Secretariat established in Pakistan would be fully functional for coordination parliamentsry initiatives of regional development and economic progress.
He mentioned that the unanimity of views in “Islamabad Declaration” on condemning the violation of basic human rights in Indian Occupied Jammu& Kashmir and oppression against innocent Palestinians indicate the commonality of views among participating states. He also said that cooperation among parliaments is imperative for regional socio-economic development. He also mentioned that unanimity spirit of all participating Speakers in PAECO which was indicated in “Islamabad Declaration” adopted unanimously in 2nd General Conference of PAECO.
Mir Rehman Rahmani ,Speaker of the Wolsi Jirga of Afghanistan, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Mili Majlis of Azerbaijan, Mr. Talant Mamytov, Speaker of the Supreme Council of Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Zokirzoda Mahmodthohir ,Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli, Republic of Tajikstan, Mr. Mustafa Sentop ,Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mr. Ismoilov Nurdinjoin, Speaker of the Majlis Oli of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Mr. Mynbay Darkhan as Heads of the delegation of the House of Representatives of Kazakhstan also address the concluding ceremony of the conference . Whereas, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf ,Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Ms.Gulshat Mammedova Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and Dr.Hadi Soleimanpour Secretary General of ECO virtually addressed the concluding Session of the Conference.
The Speakers of the ECO member’s states expressed their felicitation for successful organization of 2ndGeneral Conference of PAECO. They expressed their gratitude to Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser for hosting this conference and exemplary hospitality extended to them. They mentioned about the importance of trade and connectivity for regional development and prosperity. They also mentioned about tackling the issues of climate change which is afflicting all ECO member states. The Speakers mentioned about up-Skilling the youth and women to include them in social stream. They also stressed about exploring the opportunities of trade among regional countries.
Mr.Imran Khan Prime Minister of Pakistan also addressed the concluding session of 2nd General Confererence of PAECO . He congratulated the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser for successful organization of the PAECO conference .
