Perpetrators of killing of Hareem Fatima to be arrested soon, says Shehryar Khan Afridi

KARAK – Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Khan Afridi said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa law enforcement agencies were investigating the killing of a child in Kohat and also the killing of youth in Jaani Khel, Wazisristan, and the perpetrators would be arrested and brought to justice soon.

He expressed these views while speaking to media after offering fateha for the minor, Hareem Fatima, at her hometown, Babal Khel Town, who was found dead in Kohat on Thursday.

MNA Karak Shahid Khattak, Commissioner Kohat, DIG Police, DPO and other High ranking officials were also present on the occasion.

Naveed Iqbal, the father of the victim child was also present on the occasion besides local elders of various tribes.

Grandfather of Hareem, Farhad Khattak and local elders of the bereveaved family expressed gratitude to Shehryar Afridi and others for arriving to condole the departed soul but demanded immediate arrest of the killer.

Shehryar Khan Afridi said that he had visited victim’s family in Baba Khel village on directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan and entire senior officials were present to send a message to the victim’s family that the government would leave no stone unturned to arrest the murderer of the little child.

“We will soon arrest the killer and this is an assurance from Prime Minister Imran Khan. We are equally bereaved on the incident,” Shehryar Afridi said.

He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan had directed the law enforcement agencies to resolve the matter as a test case and entire force was activated to arrest the killer.

“Whosoever is responsible for killing the little child would be arrested soon. We have some leads and Police are woking on these leads. We would not take much time,” he said.

Talking about Jaani Khel incident where three youth were beheaded in Waziristan, Shehryar Afridi said that the Chief Minister KP Mehmood Khan had offered the local elders to form a JIT to investigate brutal killings of the Waziristan youth and the local authorities are making efforts to arrest the killers and make them an example.

He said that local elders are also being engaged and a Joint Investigation Team would prove the matter.

He said that the government would not allow hostile forces to use the killings for political purposes and all state institutions are being employed and geofencing and forensics are being conducted to arrest the killer, said Shehryar Afridi.

Briefing the Jirga on the police investigation, DIG Kohat said that Police would solve this case as a test case and the perpetrator would not be allowed escape.

“Based on technical information, we will crack this matter and culprit would be arrested. We have done all data record, geofencing, CDR and we have found credible evidence. We are cross examining our results and soon we will arrest the culprit,” he added.

MNA Shahid Khattak said that he had contacted Shehryar Afridi as soon as the body of the Little angel was found and he said that based on the evidence shared with him, he hoped that the culprit would be arrested within a day or two.

Former MNA Shah Abdul Aziz also expressed gratitude to Shehryar Afridi and other officials and said the way the minister had acted on the happening, he was indebted for their efforts.

He said that people were making efforts beyond political differences and party lines and hoped that the killer of the little angel would soon be arrested.
