*Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Syed Ali Asad Gillani called on President Dr Arif Alvi*
Islamabad: President Dr Arif Alvi has underscored the need
for further strengthening the existing bilateral relations with Uzbekistan in all areas
of mutual interests, including political, trade, economic and cultural fields. He said
it was essential to build political, economic and cultural relations with Uzbekistan
and interacts closely on issues of bilateral importance, regional developments and
international cooperation, especially through exchange of high level visits,
parliamentary exchanges and ministerial interactions. He stated this while talking
to Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Syed Ali Asad Gillani, who called on
him, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today.
The President asked the Ambassador to work for promotion of trade and economic
relations between the two countries. He emphasized the need to diversify
Pakistan’s exports to Uzbekistan by including manufactured goods, finished
products, pharmaceuticals and services etc. He also asked the Ambassador to work
for promotion of tourism in Pakistan as well as strengthening cultural linkages
between the two sides. He highlighted that parliamentary cooperation was highly
essential to further deepen bilateral relations and stressed the need for promoting
parliamentary exchanges between the two countries.
