Meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood and Special participation of Chairman NDMA

Apart from the concerned provincial officials, NCOC General Asif Goraya and representatives of 11 Corps also participated.
The meeting reviewed the steps taken to enhance the capacity of government hospitals in the province with regard to Corona.

In the first phase, 478 HDU beds will be added by the end of June.
By the end of July, 315 more beds will be added in the next phase, the briefing said
An additional 200 ICU beds for Corona patients will be added by August, the briefing said
The Chairman NDMA was apprised of the other urgent needs of the government hospitals in the province regarding Corona.
These requirements include ventilators, cardiac monitors, oxygen connectors and other medical devices.
With regard to Corona, all possible assistance will be provided to meet the urgent needs of the hospitals of the province, assured General Afzal.

Consider setting up an oxygen plant in the province to provide uninterrupted supply of oxygen to Corona patients.

Steps should be taken to run the laboratories in three shifts to increase the daily number of corona testing, the Chief Minister directed the Health Department officials.

To this end, the availability of trained medical staff should be diverted from the traditional way, Mahmood Khan said.

The Chief Minister thanked the Chairman NDMA for his special cooperation with the provincial government in dealing with the Corona situation.
