Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah meets Prime Minister Imran Khan

The Home Minister presented to the Prime Minister the performance report of the Ministry of Home Affairs and its various departments for the last twenty months (August 2018 to April 2020).
The Home Minister said that during this time the National Action Plan was revived by the National Internal Security. In this regard, fourteen high-level committees consisting of experts have been formed which will present their recommendations on various issues within a month.
The Prime Minister was informed that electronic visas have been introduced for 175 countries in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to promote investment and tourism in the country, which has made it much easier to obtain Pakistani visas.
A comprehensive policy has been formulated for the complete eradication of terrorism from the country, especially for the prevention of terrorist financing.

The High Level Steering Committee is formulating a comprehensive policy and detailed strategy to tackle the scourge of smuggling and implement it effectively to effectively curb this menace that is causing irreparable damage to the national economy and industry. ۔

In Islamabad, a record 70 operations were carried out against encroachments to reclaim 15,000 kanals of land worth about Rs 100 billion from the occupation mafia.

The Prime Minister was informed that NADRA was providing all possible assistance to other government agencies in the national interest. These include documenting the economy, increasing the tax base and tax collection. Apart from this, NADRA is also providing assistance in New Pakistan Housing Program.

Special Assistant for Accountability and Admission Barrister Shehzad Akbar was also present in the meeting.
