Islamabad June 08, 2020, National Productivity Organization (NPO) in collaboration with Asian Productivity Organization, Tokyo, Japan; has launched online programs for capacity building of professionals, as an alternative of physical face to face/ class room trainings, the purpose of this online programs is to prevent the spread of the disease COVID-19, while continuing the activity of capacity building of professionals, that is also very important aspect of any economy. These online services will help to minimize the barriers due to current situation created by COVID-19. It will also minimize the negative impact on creation and application and sharing of new knowledge.
In this context: National Productivity Organization (NPO) in collaboration with APO, Tokyo, Japan and local stakeholders including Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and Fatima Jinnah Women University Karachi organized a program on Knowledge Management for multiplying effect and to faster the replication of the knowledge shared by the international expert from UK, Mr. Ron Young. He specializes in knowledge driven results for organizations. He contributed to the production of the UK Government White Paper ‘UK Competitiveness in the Knowledge Driven Economy’.
Mr. Arsyoni Buana, Program Officer. Member Country Service Division, In- country, Directorate, Asian Productivity Organization, Tokyo, Japan very much appreciated the efforts of NPO Pakistan and said that the program was up to mark and he offered more such online trainings session on new topics. NPO Pakistan will shortly share the most important topics with APO, Japan after local stakeholders’ consultation.
The online session benefited 224 participants from Industrial Sector, Academia, Government and Private Organizations.
While sharing his views added, Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhry, Chief Executive Officer, National Productivity Organization (NPO), Ministry of Industries & Production, Government of Pakistan said that APO is playing a pivotal role in transforming member economies and has introduced a number of programs on smart transformation for industry, public sector agriculture and service sectors. He appreciated efforts of APO team, NPO team members and stakeholders especially that of PEC involved in the project. The CEO said. All economic sectors can accrue substantial improvement in productivity by adopting knowledge management techniques in system development, technologies handling, production processes and services. He added; any crisis presents the opportunity to help us learn, cultivate compassion and increase resilience while building a safer and more caring community.
